Jace turned 8!!!

We had such a great birthday week with Jace. We started out Sunday night with his birthday dinner. He chose steak, potatoes(from garden), squash/zucchini(from the garden) & watermelon. He wanted Yummy cake(Texas sheet cake) for his cake. Then on Monday he had his friends birthday party. He was so excited for this and had been planning it out for months! He had a sports theme birthday party. Aunt Ashley helped Jace make the invitations & they turned out really cute. He invited 13 boys & 4 girls. He had 6 different stations set up with basketball, football, baseball, golf, water volleyball & racing. He had so much fun & was so excited about his party. He has such great friends! After an exhausting afternoon with his party, we went to his favorite Mexican restaurant, Melina's. He then got to come home & open his presents. He was so excited to get the Mario Kart game for his wii. He has been wanting it so bad! On Saturday, August 1st, Jace was able to get baptized. He had been waiting for this day for so long. He was really excited & ready to finally be baptized. We were excited to have both of our families with us to watch Jace be baptized. I know as his Mom, I am supposed to teach my kids, but Jace has already taught me so much! He is really a great example & keeps our family doing what we are supposed to do each day! We love you Jace!

The following Wednesday Jace got his tonsils & adenoids out. He has had strep throat 6 times this last year. He would get so sick with strep each time and would end up missing lots of school, so it was time to get them out.(He never had strep before he started school!) He was alittle nervous about getting them out, but felt really comforted knowing his uncle Jake Poulter would be taken care of him.(he is an anaesthesiologist at the Blackfoot hospital)The surgery went well, but he is still not feeling that great. Hopefully he will be feeling better by the time school starts. The other day I heard him tell Mallory that "It's not too bad getting your tonsils out, because you don't have to do any chores & you get all the Popsicles you want!" Mallory has decided she wants to get her tonsils out now!

wow - we can't believe Jace is 8 too. We sure miss being around Jace - he is such a special guy. Jed especially misses teasing Jace. It seems so long ago when we used to come over & hang out all the time. Everytime we would leave Jed would say on the way home something about how Jace was such a cool kid. That is great so many could come to the baptism - your family picture was great. PS - Jed said my comment on your baldwin family pictures sounded rude. Hopefully it didn't come across rude - b/c I totally didn't mean it rude at all! We love the baldwins - we actually consider ourselves half baldwin for all the family parties we invited ourselves to in Ogden. SEriously, I thought your family pics turned out great!!
