Stuck

We occasionally like to go on Sunday drives(I don't know why,but we did when I was growning up), so 2 Sundays ago we went on a Sunday drive. The kids were really playing around in the back seat(they seemed to be extra noisy)Jace was playing with McKenna and really tossing and turning in his seat belt. On the way home he kept saying my seat belt is stuck, but we didn't pay much attention to it until we got home and tried to get him out. He already had unbuckled his seat belt, but he had somehow he had twisted the seat belt around his stomach. The seat belt somehow got tied in a knot around his waist and was pretty tight. The seat belt had locked at the top, so you couldn't pull it out to loosen it. He was really stuck! We didn't know what to do. We tired to maneuver him out, but it was so tight around him nothing worked! We thought we might just have to cut the seat belt, but we didn't want to that, because it would cost too much for a new one. (we'll leave a child stuck in the car because thats how cheap we are) Jace was very brave and strong because the seat belt was very tight, so it hurt every time we tired to move him around. He was also was very hungry. I brought him his dinner out in the car for him, and Mallory kept him company for the whole ordeal. He even asked if I could get him a bell, so he could ring it if he needed anything. After about 1 hour of trying and calling everyone we could think of to help. We talked to a guy in our ward that is a mechanic. He undid a bolt so that it could loosen enough for Jace to squeeze out. The Mechanic said with the newer cars you cannot cut the belt because it does something to the airbag system. So we are glad we were cheap this time and didn't cut it. Jace was very happy and relieved to get out of his seat belt. At the time it wasn't too funny for him, but now we have laughed about it!
