We had such a fun Thanksgiving this year. It was so fun to be able to be with Jake for so many days in a row. On Wednesday we drove to Heber City, to go to Nikki & Bruce's house. Their house is so nice and they are the best hosts! We were joined by Nate & Meggan, Amber & Spence, Jake & Marie and family, and my Mom and Dad. Thanksgiving started out with bang at 6:45 a.m. wake up call to go to the gym. The only takers we had were Nikki, Bruce and Me, everyone else was smart enough to stay in bed. We had a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner around 2, but honestly I wasn't hunger by that time because of all the yummy appetizers that we had. We lounged around & played games for several hours.
Then the big event of the night....The 3rd annual out-law & in-law basketball and volleyball games(brother/sisters vs their spouses or significant other). This is something we do every Thanksgiving. This year the teams consisted of Out-law team: Nikki Sue, Marie, Nathan, Me, Hugh, and Amber.(sidenote-Amber was 41 weeks pregnant so she wasn't her normal basketball playing self :) ) In-law team: Jake E, Jake P., Spence, Bruce, Candace, and Meggan. The volleyball game was one by the in-law team, but it was hard long fight for the in-laws. My pick for MVP for the volleyball game was Candace. She was quite an animal when it came to setting the ball for Jake E to spike. We are hoping she will be a permanent in-law! (hint, hint Hugh)
The basketball game started out with a scare. The ball was thrown to Marie but she missed it and it hit her in the nose, which caused her to pass out. Needless to say, we were glad to have a doctor in the house!(poor Marie) The winner was the Out- laws in which we are very proud of, but as the in-laws feel like the score was rigged by the scorekeepers(mom & dad). The MVP of basketball is to Hugh, I didn't know he was so good at b-ball. For myself I had so much fun just being able to play(since we go with my family ever other year --2 years ago I was pregnant with McKenna) I found myself enjoying the opportunity to "cheap shot" my significant other!!! Sorry Jake! We missed Jill/Micheal, Nitch/Ashley, Ashley/Damien. We hope for another great game next year or I guess for me in 2 years!
In-laws

Out-Laws_Marie still has that Cheer leading spirit!
The Subs -Mallory had to be the cheerleader!
Friday Amber had her baby, so we made a quick stop to visit our new little cousin, Mia. She is so pretty, and Mallory and McKenna love her. She was a big baby, 9 lbs. 4 oz, and 21 inches long!

On Saturday, we worked together to put up our Christmas Decorations.
That night, we left the girls with a babysitter and went with Grandpa to the BYU vs. ISU game in Pocatello. Jace and Gramps are huge fans, so we all had a blast cheering on the Cougars!!!

i love the idea of out-laws vs. in-laws!! next time let's use that at the erickson thanksgiving, even though it could get way out of control though:) i only had courtney as my fellow turkey trot runner thanksgiving morning, that's another thing we can do if we're ever on the same thanksgiving schedule!? let's try to get together during christmas break?
That looks like so much fun! Although I really suck at basketball and NO one would want me on their team. I think I could handle Tara's idea and do the turkey trot. My sister in law and I were going to do that in Bozeman, but then she told everyone she was pregnant! YEAH!! but wasn't feeling up to running in 10 degree weather. I don't blame her.
Tell your sis congrats on her beautiful Mia! How fun to have a Thanksgiving baby.
Looks like you had a great Thanksgiving! You had told me about the out-law/in-law b-ball...that would be such a fun tradition! Hope you guys have a wonderful Christmas this year. WE miss you guys!
